The Masque of the Red Death - E. A. Poe

it was in this apartment, also, that there stood ... a gigantic clock of ebony. Its pendulum swung to and fro with a dull, heavy, monotonous clang: and when... the hour was to be stricken, there came from the brazen lungs of the clock a sound which was clear and loud and deep and exceedingly musical, but of so perculiar a note and emphasis that, at each lapse of an hour, the musucians of the orchestra were constrained to a pause... to hearken to the sound; and thus the waltzers perforce ceased their evoloutions; and their was a brief disconcert of the whole gay company; and, while the chimes of the clock yet rang, it was observed that the giddiest grew pale, and the more aged and sedate passed their hands over their brows as if in confused reveire or meditation. But when the echoes had fully cease, a light laughter at once pervaded the assembly ... and made whispering vows, each to the other, that the next chiming of the clock should produce in them no similar emotion; and then after the lapse of sixty minutes ... there came yet another chiming of the clock, and then the same disconcet and tremulousness and meditation as before.
But in spite of these things, it was a gay and magnificent revel...
I love how winding and unending this passage is. I find that I lose myself in writing like this =]

Creative Outlet
Jan. 1st, 2008 | 06:03 pm
Eventually I have found a creative outlet that I enjo and have a samll amount of talent in. Photograph seems to have taken over my life, ever since I got mnew camera i've been looking at everything thinking how I could make it into a photo and what I would do to make it look good and themes I particluar enjoy. I've found that I enjo most just walking around and find inspiration with things that pop out to me, for example today I was walking around where I live and I suddenly thought I know where i'll go and I went and there were loads of photo oppourtunities. I haven't felt this happy or excited about anything for a while, i'm quite excited and hope to make a proper hobby out of this. I've begun with a challenge on here called 100 snapshots, its a starting place where I can experiment with different themes and techniques and then get critique so I can better my skills, also its fun to look at the different headings and think how you can twist them to make them your own but still make them relate.

My take on the 100 snapshots community.
Basically what i'v e done is taken some words from their list but as I am not the best of photographers have just found photos of what all the word mean to me. I know its cheating but i can't say i care much.

music: Why - Annie Lennox
Well on Wednesday the torture begins for another whole year. I say torture but i admit that really i'm quite looking forward to going back. I miss all my friends quite a lot and at the end of the day just enjoy my lessons. I sound like a bit of a freak after that but meh what do I care, its not like anybody who reads this journal actually gives a SHITabout me or my life, nobody really cares about other people's rants because they've all got more important things going on in their lives.
